Ok, so i've been reading the stickys / some posts about full body training. Has anyone tried this and had good results? I've been training on a 4 day split for over a year now with some decent results but looking for an edge. Also getting cut up for summer soon, not sure if now is a good time to start changing my training.

One routine from the sticky looks decent?:

Overhead Dumbbell or Barbell Press: 2 sets of 8 to 10 reps
Squats: 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps
Barbell or Dumbbell Flat Bench Press: 3 sets of 8 reps
Chins or Bent Over Barbell Rows: 3 sets of 8 to 12 reps
Dips or Close Grip Bench Press: 1 to 2 sets of 8 reps
Barbell or Dumbbell Curls: 1 to 2 sets of 8 reps
Standing or Donkey Calf Raises: 2 to 3 sets of 12 to 20 reps

Opinions / experiences?

:)

I don't think full body training need be looked at as purely a beginners routine. By concentrating your energy's into 1 or 2 main compound lifts per bodypart it is frequently easier to increase on those lifts as you are not simply killing the muscle by training unnecessary exercises. I've been steadily cutting down on the exercises I do for each muscle and have found I've been able to increase on the main ones I've left in my routine. Which is swaying me towards trying a full body type routine for a while at some point in the not too distant future. Another compromise you could do is an upper body/lower body split. Or a push and pull day.
Give it a try for a couple of weeks or so and see how your lifts change! let us know your progress if you do this! Would be interesting to see!
