From the corner of the gym where the BIG men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty-fives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees. Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack Chalking his hands and monstrous back, said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, The trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'." — DALE CLARK, 1983

yep, that's a partial lift...people usually do it when their sticky point in Bench Press is the locking-out part which requires more triceps, so doing partials can really help to eliminate that sticky point. Also, since you can lift heavier when doin partials, I'ts also pretty good for exposing your joints and muscles to heavier weights so that they get used to them...

Mike Mentzer used to do quarter-squats with HEAVY WEIGHT (I believe the picture I saw he had around 1000 lbs. on his back).

In a lot of the pro videos they do half reps just to get the pump going.
