I run 5 minutes before workout usually in the pm.
Then I run for 25 minutes after I am done.

From the corner of the gym where the BIG men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain Where the big iron rides high and threatens lives, Where the noise is made with big forty-fives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees. Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack Chalking his hands and monstrous back, said, "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, The trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'." — DALE CLARK, 1983

Depends what you're looking for. If you are training for bulk, then you don't want to be wasting energy before a session (other than some light running to warm up on lower body days) or have the energy to do it after.
Even if cutting, I would have thought that running would be detrimental to your session doing it before hand. I'd do it on either a rest day from training or if you train in am - do your running in pm or vice versa.
