Damn right you can't isolate it. But you can shift stress by manipulating angles to work one harder than the other.

A lot of people I see doing Skull Crushers do them wrong that might be why you dont feel those(just a free weight exercise).

lots of people move their elbow joints as they go thru the movement of the exercise, and due to this you get less stress placed on your tricep. Keeping your elbows in a comfortable position and locked there will help ensure a good pump for your tris.

People stress keeping elbows tucked in when doing them but I notice that only makes the overall movement harder and not entirely nessescary, if you see a lot of pros doing them they dont keep their elbows locked tightly inwards.

That's because their arms and chest are so damn big they can't

But I agree, you do not have to keep your elbows tucked in to get a great pump from Skull Crushers. I like the cable exercises as well but I also like overhead DB extensions.

I don't realy do pushdowns. My triceps grow nicely from chest/oh presses, all I need are a couple sets of overhead db extensions for the long head and I'm good to go. My triceps are probably my best bodypart (don't get me started on my biceps though ).
