How do you guys stay motivated to keep doing what you're doing? What do you guys do to get motivated? My problem is I want to lift but i think i need a little more motivation to get back in it real hard, my other problem is the lack of equipment: bb and dbs. Hopefully once I can drive, I can hit the gym and don't need to worry about clearing stuff in my room to lift(This alone kills my mindset, the area isn't a lot and I feel cramped up as compared to the basement of the house.) Since I moved, there is no basement to use now, so if I decided to lift, it has to be in my room.

I lift in my garage and have the same equpment as you (plus a bench) I struggle with motivation a lot - mainly the fear of not pushing past my previous session. But I have a training partner now and that pushes me, but the sessions I still do on my own I just think about the end result. I just picture my muscles growing as I do it. Think about the way it'll better you and just look forward to the challenge of bettering yourself. It's not the limit of your equipment that slows you, just the limit of your mind! It's worse when starting to get back into it. Once you've started, just keep it up - don't overtrain (cos' then you REALLY never want to train) and log your results (bodyweight, lifting weight, measurements) and that gives you something to judge your progress by so you know you're doing something right! Just remember how much better you feel when you've worked out - unless your tear a pec or something!

I know that the second I put down the wight I'm angry at myself. That I regret not trying just another rep, althought I might never succeded, just putting it up just a little bit and trying to hold it there. I alsow know that after one bad set, I lost to my mind and from that piont on it's really hard to get focussed again and do better next set. Hit it as hard as you can, feel the pump, and get excited to do it again next set.

I know what you mean about losing the will after a bad first set. To me it's all about getting that good first heavy set done and done well then from then on it just seems easier. Completely lose the will if I have a bad first set! Shows how psychological training and how well you train really is.

after doing some light versions of working out at home when i wasnt totally serious about lifting and then in the gym, i couldnt imagine being working out athome being in the gym around the bigger guys pushes and motivates me more than enough so maybe you should get in the gym for a while and just see if it makes any difference to your training
other than that look at pics use visulisation
i remember watching for the first time, the unbelieveable at my uncles and seeing ronnie deadlift that 800pounds (this is when i had jut been doign deadlifts for not long) got me so pumped i went into the gym straight from there and had one of the best sessions.
if not then put on some load rock get warmed up and bust your arse dont be scared remember :"ain't nothin to it but to do it!"

The way I keep my self going is writing it down. Write your work outs out and try to lift more or do more reps each time you get into the gym.

When you have the money get down to a good gym. BBr's are a strange creatures and although they with draw into themselves to draw on power for work outs. Going to the Gym will put you in a social situation were you can check out the competition. When I started out at the gym seeing others with more muscle than myself was unacceptable. I thought dude these guys aint got nothin on me so it motivated me to become the biggest dude at the gym.

Watch the clips on this website before going to work outS. Visualise that you are Ronnie or beating ronnie and the set that you are preforming will make the diffrence between winning at the O.

Motivation is a stupid term any way. What you have to do is learn routines to get yourself into the mind set for lifting.

Good luck :)

I get my motivation from my son. He loves to tell his little friends hoe strong his daddy is, and I remeber how I used to watch my dad work on cars and think that he was as strong as superman the way he would move that stuff around.

Prorbably thinking about where I came from in terms of body. I used to be so incredibly tiny it wasnt funny. But now my whole life is turned around, I am confidant about myself, I enjoy life a lot more. I also enjoy watching videos and looking at pictures, that gets me motivated like crazy. I am wanting to go into the field of sports nutrition or personal training and this is what I love to do.
