So I went in today to do my chest workout, I sort of felt like shit but like my old workout buddy used to say "if you gave me a buck for everytime i felt like shit and didnt wanna work out, id be rich," and I did my stuff anyways. So I start off with my incline DB press heavy as usual, I had no spotter and I went pretty heavy 100lb DBs and at the end of the set after I put the weight down I felt like I had a slight tear in my upper left pec close to where the shoulder and pec meet. So after this I quickly stopped and went to a machine to see if it really was a tear and it did hurt/sting to push the weight.

I guess I haven't been listening to my body past few days about taking some time off, but would 1 week be sufficent for the tear to heal? I don't think its that bad.

I'm just thinking take a full weak off everything, legs, chest, back, chest, etc. Also currently I am bulking so I should stay true to my normal diet even though I will be taking a week or so off to let the tear heal.

thanks.

I answered a lot of my own questions.

I think a week off will do me some good to heal up my minor(hopefully minor) tear and get me up and ready again when the weak is over, I think my body needs a week off.

I will continue my regular clean bulking diet.

Anyone else been in the same boat now that I have seem to have answered my own question?

Something very similar happened to me yesterday. After I warmed up, I threw up the 120lb dumbbells for my usual incline dumbbell presses. After five sets of those went to do the hammer machine with my workout partners and something didn't feel quite right. Today I can barely lift my right arm past my shoulders. Go figure.

Get it checked out by a doctor man. Better to be sure than sorry.

whoa thats terrible.

Trust me it isn't that bad at all. I can fully move my arm it just hurts when I lift heavy with it, and this is why I stopped right after I felt the tear. I am just going to take a nice week off and see how it feels after that when I get back into the gym, hopefully a week of doing nothing but relaxing and staying true to my usual diet will heal the tear and rejuvinate my body.

I have read a couple articles saying a week off is actually a pretty good thing and I cant remember that last time I took a break.
