great but a little hard on me with my bad left shoulder..i can ony do 6 -45ibs plates right now

they r isolat the lats...its a stretch movment....it not bad to do it after the compound movments just for finishing touches...

i think so...prolly even better cuz its a free wight....also ronnie coleman did them in cost of redemption for his back so they sould b good...and prolly if u preform them on a decline bench it will even b better cuz i think that it will somehow keep constant tention on the lats...

Then I'll probably alternate between the machine pullovers and db pullovers every other week. Thanks.

I do straight arm pulldowns sometimes (which is pretty much the same thing). IMO this is a great movement IF you don't use to much weight. U really wanna squeeze the lats and feel the burn!

straight arm meaning from a horizontal position straight in front of you then still with straight arms bring the bar straight down in front of you. same movement as a regular pull over just cant get all the way back

Same grip as regular pulldowns, but your arms are holding the bar in a straight position and you can do reverse grip also..
