Unless you are on drugs, in your first 3-4 months of training or are obese you cannot build muscle while loosing body fat.

Doing cardio is important for many reasons, just don't expect to gain mass while you are decreasing body fat. You'd find better luck attempting to convert lead into gold.

As I said, you can gain muscle, you can drop body fat, but you cannot gain muscle and loose body fat simaltaneously.

tps: Yes, a good "cutting" program is structured around the goals of maintaining muscle mass while decreasing body fat. And a good "bulking" program should be structured around gaining muscle mass while maintaining body fat.

Ortega, I suggest 2-3 full body workouts per week in combination with HIIT cardio and a well thought out nutritional program.

hmm alright i will have to try that just out of curiosity are the full body workouts supposed to be heavy like you would go when bulking or should they stay light and more endurance type workouts?

On the heavier side, you are performing them to maintain muscle size and strength, not increase muscular endurance.

follow the HIIT method... it can be anything from running, to biking, or swimming. it just involves high intensity intervals followed by low intensity intervals. i used to spring the straights on the track and jog the curves. its should be like 14-15 seconds hard running followed by 45 second jog
