i love t bar rows but this machine only lets u go up to about 3 plates then it kinda pulls u foward because the platform is on an incline so u r balancing the weight and yourself. so recently ive been doing them the old school way which do u prefer

Old school for sure, try loading 25's on the bar instead of 45's. I found that i can get a better pull due to clearance at the chest

I work out at home so I use the barbell. However, I bought a swivel that I attach to the other end, as well as a handle that you attach to the front end before you load on the plates. Before that I'd just use the seated row handle, the V-shaped tricep handle, or sometimes just my own hands.

Agree with Gettingstronger, but damn how many 25's can you load on the thing? lol I just use the 45's now. Maybe after reading this thread I'll consider going back to using the 35's again.

Realistically they're the same things. With the hammerstrength you can load up as many as you want dude. Like seriously I'm repping 5 plates on that with little pull forward. With the OG way of doing it I can still rep 5, but u really gotta watch the other end of the bar cuz it'll come up like crazy (don't start with the god damn "well why don't you weigh the other part of thase bar down?! derrrrrrrr" cuz I've done that... still managed to rep 6 plates and upwards so shoosh right now). Overall I prefer the machine solely based on that aspect of things.

old school for the win
the machine i can fill it with plates
and in the back put 4 more and get like 6-8 it.it will pull you forward if you don't resist the weight the negative builds muscle 2
i don't feel the negative as much like the old school way.

old school for sure

but sometimes i like to grab a heavy ass dumbbell, like 110+ and grap a hold of the dumbbell rack, and row the dumbbell up, with a little bit of cheating movement. has helped my back thickness a lot

I like the old school although with the hammer strength is harder to cheat if you keep your feet on the platform and not the ground

My gym use to have the hammerstrength (chest pad and one that was flat footed) but those have for some reason but taken out a while back. Thankfully my gym has a powerrack that has great corners for the OldSchool way. a thick screw comes out and holds the top down. So the OldSchool way for me.

A little of everything: standing BB rows, sitting T-bar cable rows, sitting V-bar cable rows, and I use to do DB rows, but not any more.

Just as a thing here, it kinda irks me to hear people go "well if Big Ron did it, then I should too!" It's not always best to follow what others do. It's best to train for what's best for your body and how you grow

Yea i can also pull 5 plates w/ good form, but I can load 25s on, bend over alittle more and get a totally diff. pump from the clearance at the top. I wasnt saying not to use 45s, I was just telling yall something I like to do lol.

Hate the stationary one I tried I dont think it was hammerstrength tho, seemed ergonomically weird. The one with the swivel is good but my gym dosnt have anything so its free style for me when I do them which honestly isnt much unless im at the gym with the swivel thing.

Its about a 8 inch piece of tube just big enough to fit the end of a oly bar in, its attached to a swivel which is bolted to the ground.

I have seen ones before that are in the shape of "Home Plate" so that they fit in corners nicely.
Here is one that i found, there are a couple other. No pricey either.

that one looks good cause you could use either size bar. Not sure what th little screwy clampy thing on the front is for... Easy as **** to make for the home gym.
