Try adding a pad on the bar if you havn't already. Also, use your trapz to support the weight.

Hmm, never experienced any pain in my delts other than standard soreness when I did not have the bar placed properly. Are you sure you have it sitting in the right "spot?"

Are you using one of the pads that wrap around the bar for support?

I get the same problem in my delts, ecpecially in my medial delts the most. It usually hurts more in my shoulders because my training splits like this:

Monday: Chest, Front Delts, Triceps

Wednesday: Quads, Hams / Glutes, Calves

Friday: Medial Delts, Lats, Traps, Rear Delts, Biceps, Brachiallis.

So the majority of my shoulder training is on Monday, when Wednesday comes I still have some sorenes in my shoulders and chest when I'm doing barbell squats. What I do to help this is put two big ass pads on the bar, wear gloves, wear a weight belt and knee wraps. Fahad said to try front squats. I think that might help a little too.

Yea add a pad if you havent already and try not to let the bar go to back on your traps so that your arms are bending back, just place the bar so that your arms are straight/parrallel. And try to put the pad on the upper part of your kneck.

Oh my word, I just have to get hold of that Manta Ray thing. It looks awesome.

Where are you resting the bar? I split the weight of the bar between my traps and my delts and nothing bad ever happens. What you should try is moving the position of your hands on the bar. Normally people have hands that are positioned close to the shoulders. I put mine way out wide and it has made the world of difference.
