Theres no equation to determine max heart rate. All they do is estimate.
If I wanted your max HR and you are conditioned. I'd strap an HR monitor to you and warm you up. Then I'd make you sprint a 400m, and the HR would record the highest your HR went to.
I'd do that again in one week.
And yet again in another week.
Then I'd take the highest of the three.
If you want to burn the most calories, you need to exercise at a high intensity.
I'm on my way out the door, but I have spoke of this many times before. Its your Minimal Intensity Threshold MIT. Working below it your body uses fats for fuel. Working above carbohydrates. Thats the figures browner quoted.
They DO NOT, however, translate into fat loss at all.
