Are you talking about your calves? Just wondering because I've never heard of traps being associated with the inability to sprint.

Like I said, I've never heard of that. The only advice I can give is just stretch and stay hydrated. Sorry I couldn't be of any help, but, again, what you're talking about I've never heard of. Hopefully someone else will be able to come and help sort this out for you.

running utilizes almost every major muscle group in the body. you may be dehydrated and that might cause the cramping. or you might have a pinched nerve or something. there needs to be more info given really. ask your doctor the next time you visit and tell him whats up.

i mean does it really help out that much with muscle structure... i mean i have been working out for a while now without taking them....and i see some sort of results, but if i go back to taking them will they help out that much more..?

i am still taking my multi vitamins, bcaa's, some joint formula, and oils

^ you really should just make another thread in the Supplement Section , those that excel in supplements adn nutrition might not find your question inside a thread in trainning about Traps.

I have had the same problem in the past. Its normally stiffness of the thoracic and cervical vertebrae. Go see a physio and they will be able to manipulate and mobile the facet joints in that area. You may also be contributing to the problem in the way that you run. Some people tend to lift their shoulders a little while running, recruiting the traps. This after a period of time (say 1/2 a game of soccer) will begin to fatigue the muscle and make it more prone to cramping. I had that exact problem.

1) see a physio
2) test your neck range of motion regularly to see how its going
3) drink lots of water
4) stretch
5) Dont worry you'll be fine! :)
