I play football for high school and i need to know if there is a way i could get my squat max up by doing other lifts i squat 315 one max rep

and when we do squat at school we have to do reps of 8 then 5 5 5 5
so i do 205/225/230/235/240.

So i was just wondering if there was any other lifts that would help my squat

Heavy Deads... and use a leg press machine or hack squat machine if you have one.

But increasing your deads is very benefical to increasing your squat

Oh and Welcome to the dungeon, great to have you aboard.

You can increase your squat by not performing 1 rep maxes..

There is NO purpose for you to do 1 rep maxes. They prove nothing. You are only inviting an injury.

Switch your routine up so you don't plateau. Good luck.

true!

but in football they make us max out in everything, and for them our maxes is the weight that we could only rep once!

deadlifts PRIMARILY work your lower back.

however, a lot of other muscle are working
glutes, hamstrings, quads, calves, traps, lats, forearms, biceps...

it's good for increasing your overall strength

just lift heavy and smart, eat a lot and the stength will come. it's a slow process. don't expect to up your squat 50lbs in 2 weeks.

Most hs coaches are not properly educated; its that simple. They teach so they can coach and that's it. They are usually tryin to keep their own dreams alive. If they made me do 1rep maxes I'd quit. Coaches around here don't make kids max.
