Hey everyone, I've developed this bad pain in my inner calves below the calf muscle and above the ankles. I only do jump rope for 5 minutes, 3 days a week at a moderate pace (as a warm-up before I workout). It feels more like pain in the bones rather than the muscles. I've only been doing jump rope for about 2 months now. Any thoughts are appreciated.

you are overworking your soleus muscle. try alternating jumping on your tiptoes to work the upper part of your gastrocnemius. this will allow for your soleus to take a brake. also warm up with some stretching and if you need to ice.

Unfortunately its concrete (my backyard). I'll start using rubber mats after I've waited about a week for the pain to subside.

I had the same problem when I was jumping rope at the gym. Dr told me it was from doing the excersize on concrete. He told me it was a form of shin splints. He gave some meds (aleve) and told me to get better shoes and stay away from concrete and asphalt.

agreed, I'm on a jumping/veritcal program and they say to jump on a soft surface like a rug mat or something to absorb the impact/shock to your muscles.
