So I know Arnold did calves every day of the week but of course he's Arnold and also was juicing. How often do you guys train your calves. I train em 3 times a week with usally 2 or 3 exercises of 4 sets and up to 25 reps. Advice would be great

I train mine with my legs.. and then sometimes with my abs.. I do a variety of calf excersizes..

I typically dont go more than 10 to 12 reps with as heavy as a weight as I can handle.

Running is the absolute best way to get big calves I've been lifting with them and trying to get them big that way. And as soon as I start running more BAM. I have a friend on a soccer team, some of the biggest calves I've ever seen. Start doing more cardio or some if you don't do any and they should grow.

If you have been training for a while you can try to mix it up with trisets/giant sets.

Standing Calf Raise (on Machine) -->> Standing (on Block) -->> Standing (on ground) etc. 3 sets after a good warm up is a good point to start at.

Agree with MikeNYY420, running is a good way to overload the calves as well.

a block 2 sec. all the way down - 2sec. all the way up with body weight works great.

DISCLAIMER: Don't think this is true but just wanted to verify

Is it true that you are born your forearm and calve size and there's not much to do about it except creating more definition within that given mass?

Sorry if this is dumb, just heard it through the grapevine.

I believe that calfs are mostly genetic and its got something to do with an intersection point. I'm not too knowledgable on this part though so im hoping someone will come in here to help me out. I dont think its the same with forearms though.

I'm pretty sure that that's not entirely true, because I've increased and heard about people increasing their calf size and strength.

Nah I dont mean you cant make them grow or get stronger - you can its just if you have a high intersection point you wont be able to get 20+ inch calves unless you take huge amounts of synthol and AAS, whereas someone with a low intersection point can have 20+ calves naturally.

Look at brewers at the jr nationals then at ECH's. ECH's are way bigger than treys and imagine what trey is taking.

Yeah I've been doing moderately heavy for 25 reps I might try switching it up to heavier weight for 12 reps. And I don't wanna do cardio I'm still doing to offseason program to try and gain a little more mass. Gonna cut next spring
