Ok,

My best friends dad is an ex body builder, he said walking along the street and keeping muscles (abs / pecks mainly) tensed all the way will tone you up / buff you up.

Is that true ?

I would have thought, Doing sets like - 10 second tesnse / 3 sec break / 10 second tense / 3 sec break.

Im thinking about doing that like on my weekend as i dont go to the gym :)
perhaps it'll help :)

I would guess that it helps to hold poses longer, not too sure about the buff thing.

toning up and buffing up are 2 different things man. For some reason I don't see how flexing will buff you up, if you mean bulking. Like TR said, you might be able to hold your poses longer, and it MIGHT help a little with some muscle separation (so i read in another thread) but nothing passed that man. Nothing can substitute raw weight in a gym, not even a bowflex.

No it dont necessarily help [tone and buff but in the long run esp if you compete it helps bring out striations and cuts. For all the same reasons people pose year round even in the off season. Not only does it help stamina it helps bring deeper cuts and striations that come out when bodyfat is low
