I just read in MD that it's good to do these for "finisher" sets to get that killer pump before you're done. Could I get a general description for these things and how i might use them in my arm or leg WOs? Thank you.

I think static holds are crap...use rest pause method for ultimate pump as well as drop sets for the end of your workouts to really engorge your muscles with blood.

A drop set is where you go to failure with a certain weight, "drop" the weight by having lighter weight available right away so you can pump out a few more reps. Works wonders. Tears you apart.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... (ninja turtles movie anyone? haha)

Oh, that's what those are?

Ok, well i've done those a lot before, on the preacher curl mostly.

I have a really hard time getting a pump and the drop sets helped some but i've never really gotten a deep pump, unless my grip was too tight, and that was in the past and since then with a lighter grip i've not experienced any pumps. i write this off as being too newbish to the weights and my veins are not big enough yet. even when my veins are like twice as big when i cycle noxplode, i don't get good pumps, only really slight ones that last for a few sets.

Sometimes i would be pissed that i was getting no pump and it just turns out i was half assing it. Rev up the intensity of your workout and see what happens. As for static holding i think its a bunch of shit although i have no sceintific basis for that statement lol.

I use static holds and PFT, Power Factor Training.

Some like it, some dont! Let your body decide not someone elses.
