I need to vent a little. Some candy ass was in the gym hitting on an ugly bitch while I was minding my own deadlifts. I was told that I was being obnoxiously loud when the weights hit the ground. I'm pretty sure the meaning of going to the gym is to lift weights and exercise. Not to try to get laid week after week and still get shut down, correct me if I'm wrong. So being the kind of person I am I dropped the weight on my last set after I locked out. Sorry I just had to vent but has anyone else been told they are making to much noise deadlifting.

I understand your frustration, that would piss me off as well. If someone ever said something like that too me, I wouldn't explain myself at all. All I would say is, "Piss off!"

grunting sometmes is part of the sport people are generally tolerant of it if they know you are not doing it for drama purposes. So far I have not had this problem.

as long as you dont have wood floors or your not cracking the floors, I dont see any problem in what your doing, noise is an everyday happening.

agreed with most ^ posts. If you need to, do it. fuck there are guys shouting at each other yesterday when i was doing bis, one was spotting another [both big guys, big arms, chests, delts] while he was doing 150 lb incline db bench presses. if you need to, do it, it's not a big deal. if people complain, just ignore them.

i am always loud when i am spotting my partner, this gives extra motivation and they end up grunting like a mofo to complete the exercise.

I see no need to be loud at all...

If you are grunting during lifting, in most cases, it means that you are not breathing properly.

Just because you guys for some reason feel as though you are better than everyone else in the gym is no good reason to be inconsiderate to others.

And doing deads and just releasing the weight at the top is a real good way to break the floor if there is not enough padding.

I don't care what other people do, it doesn't mean you're not a dick if you grunt or toss the weight down out of spite.
