Hey guys!

well i want to hear ur guys opinions on what i should do.

well i sprained my ankle almost 4 weeks ago and i can barely do a moderate job with discomfort. its still a little swollen and what not...but it probably hasnt got better with the squatting i've done! lol

so initially i had it set since last year that my cutting cycle would begin this upcoming monday (may 26)

now the problem is i rely heavily on running (HIIT Training) and was wondering if i should put it off for another 4-6 weeks and continue my current bulking cycle.

or another option i thought of was sticking to my original plan and riding my bike for a couple hours and try to have my heartrate elevated to maximize fat burning; try to make it as intense as possible. riding my bike doesnt give me too much discomfort, just wen i try to pedal fast!

so can i please hear opinions!

Thanks guys!!!

If riding your bike puts the least amount of strain on your ankle then do it. Log your workouts and progressively increase the longevity and or intensity. You must be able to adapt to new situations. Nothing is set in stone. Last year you had now idea you would injure yourself. Adapt your training to your current circumstances.

i think the bike idea should be good as long as it is comfortable for ya.

i personally do my hiit on a bike because i broke my foot and tore a bunch of tendons in my ankle and it makes it hard to run for long periods without discomfort.

IMO, bike will be fine as long as you do it at a level that gets your heart rate in the area where it would be on a treadmill. Following this, once your ankle starts feeling a little better, I would use an elliptical machine as it doesnt appear IMO to have as much stress as a treadmill.

Then finally go back to the treadmill.

i do my hiit either on a stationary water bike or a stationary bike. this helps my ankle and foot huge, plus i can get my heart rate up nicely also.

i personally like the track...gives me more of a workout than a treadmill. but a treadmill gets the job done!

Yes I will suggest the bike for now until your injusry heals. have you thought about swimming, if you have access I would suggest swimming while you are recovering. Swimming is an intense cardio workout ecspecialy if your not a frequent swimmer.

my opinion is that you get on the bike for like 35-45 minutes and increase intensity over time since youre injured you will achieve fatloss if thats what youre after over a long time like i said it wont be as affective as HIIT but it'll get the job done for now until your better i remember when i broke my ankle with swimming i would try and not use my feet for a few laps and just my upper body but i would just swim laps switchin up the strokes and you can get a hell of a work out and cardio out of that but i mean try to do things that wont hurt your ankle cuz its healing now try to avoid gettin any pain with it

i think ur right...ill do some bike (not stationary)...and ill swim laps of doing different strokes

im just dumb when it comes to healing cuz im so active and want to do so much then i make things worse but im off it for a good while!
