When I'm doing my chest routine(Flat, decline and incline bench) my triceps give out before any other part on my body. Then when I go to do tricep exercises after I can't do half the weight I could before I did the chest stuff. They never used to do that so I'm wondering what do you guys think is the reason behind that/ how to fix it. Something to do with the grip?

u could use a wider grip to hit more of your chest for 1.

for 2 ur prolly overtraining ur triceps and ur not giving them the time to recover they need

Try prioritizing your workouts so that you are hitting Tris first or hitting chest lighter first, and going hard on the tris second. Not sure i would reccomend a wider grip on BB bench, no use putting yourself at greater risk for injury.

if he uses good form and weight he can handle the wider grip hits the chest more overall. yes, it involves a lil more delts and could lead to injury if performed improperly, but if u watch the powerlifters (even ronnie coleman) they hit the wider grip for more chest isolation

I see your reasoning, but if he is allready failing out this tells me one of two things... his tris are actually lagging and needs to prioritize, or he is trying to use too high of weight, thus sacrificing form.

I think I'll start using a wider grip and the weight I'm using isn't too heavy I'm pretty sure. I'm thinking of using a wide grip or try some dumbell stuff next time and adjusting what I do tricep wise. i'll take another day off and see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestions.

try tri's after a shoulder workout instead of chest. theres is only one (DB or military)press that will really tie into your tri's the other are mostly raising, so it could help get a better tri workout in.

you might be going too low. when ever i let my arms get more than parallel to the ground i start feeling it more in the triceps rather than chest. i always stop so that my arms are parallell with the ground. give that a try and see how it feels. one other note on the grip, try putting your pinkies on the end of the grip scratches, there should be a smoother part then rough again. put your pinkies right one the smooth part.
