Hey everyone,

I'm an aspiring 17y old who's really getting into lifting. I'm 165lbs and I'm around 5'10. My training regiment is solid, I mean I love being in the gym as much as possible, but I have a few problems I would like to overcome. I believe that every time I'm in the gym, although I have the will, and the mind set to want to perform, the reps and weight I'm doing, is more than likely wasting my time, energy, and ultimately not letting me perform to my full ability.

If you guys could help me out with reps (amount of reps, weight needed), and what a good schedule would be in the gym, that would be more than much appreciated!!!

Just from reading your post I can tell that most likely you aren't getting enough recovery time between sets and workouts. Most likely you could actually git the weights and reps that you want if you rested enough between sets. Your mind will be ready to go at it again but your body won't be so willing if you aren't allowing yourself adequate recovery time. Give yourself a minimum of 90 sec rest between sets & 3-5 min between sets if you are lifting for maximum power. If you're overtraining due to a bad training split then you may need to search for some articles & threads online for a proper regimen.

usually, i do tri's and back one day, then bi's and chest a couple days later after a day or two of rest. in between that all i do stomach every night, and legs in between those days. another day i will focus on traps, shoulders, and forearms. .. kinda hard to understand, but it all works out while im in there. this probably seems like i dont know what im doing at all.. but i really want to learn

cos when you do back ya doin them both any ways and i have never heard of do lower and upper bacl seprate

im trying to bulk up first, then cut once i've gotten to a comfortable weight. and to answer why i do upper and lower seperately, im really not sure to be honest.. i just figure doing shoulders and traps and lats works your upper more so than your lower
