If you wanna see some pics, go to the pictures forum

Ok so I just have a simple question...

I have heard that you guys bulk a lot, then you cut

What's the difference in the workout when you bulk and when you cut?

Thanks a lot guys for the help!

the bulk workouts tend to be heavier because u have more food and water when training. ur weights will go up

for cuts you maintain so your weights will either maintain or drop a lil

Bulk : To gain maximum amount of muscle, its also known as off-season for a bodybuilder who competes. Anyway, as you gain muscle you also gain fat along with it, so its better to limit the fat. You eat more food and calorie during a bulk, You lift heavier weights bcuz of the extra carbs in your body which is the fuel for muscle growth. your reps are 6-10.

Cutting: Lose the body fat gained during the bulk and maintain muscle as much as possible. It sounds simple but its not at all. First of all you have to limit your calorie intake, to lose weight you have to eat less calorie and burn it. this doesnt mean you force yourself not to eat, you can eat 5-6 times a day but small meals, containing protein, carbs and veggeis. but you want to limit the carb . No sugar at all. lots of water. You are going to lose muscle but you want to minimize that.

Cutting workout are supposed to be high reps with a low weight. to keep your heart rate at a fat burning zone. something like 12-15 reps. Cardio is going to be 4-6 times a week following your workout

It's pretty simple.

Carbs are your source of energy, for daily life and your workouts. The more consumed, additionally with larger amounts of other nutrients consumed, energy output is higher and strength will gradually rise.

On the ordinary cut, carbs are dropped. Thus meaning, energy and strength output during training will be decreased.

Differences in the routine aren't too significantly different. Only specific that may differ is arranging/adjusting volume and intensity whether bulking/cutting.

BB is 80% diet, this is where the changes are made.

When you are cutting you have to be careful not to overtrain, since you don't have the same support as when you're bulking. Otherwise it's about diet and cardio, you definitely should try to life heavy when cutting just to force the muscle to maintain.

I find some people get too carried away with bulking and cutting. They add too much fat while attempting to gain muscle, and likewise loose too much muscle while attempting to loose fat. If you are taking drugs, then the rules change. Then you do not have to worry so much about loosing muscle while attempting to burn body fat, because you the hormones aid greatly in muscle retention.

That said, if you are natural you really should not gain more than a few %'s of body fat while building muscle. If you are, then you are eating too much. And if you do, you are going to need more time to burn it, and you are going to loose more muscle while attempting to do so.

Once you have a general idea of your daily caloric expenditure, it becomes as easy as adding or subtracting 500-600 (maybe more if you are an adolescence or hard gainer) calories per day in order to gain or loose.
