So I used to be a personal trainer at this gym where I live, and it started off pretty well. Of course since I worked there I got to use the gym for free, which didn't mean much to me because all they had was a 3 station circuit machine and dumbells to 70lbs, and a bench press that felt like it was going to break in half everytime I used it. The mats at this gym were like little preschool mats so everytime you set the weight down it would tear in half. What do you expect for 15 bucks! My training partner and I would workout everyday at 5:30, which would be the same time when all the huge women would have social club on the bikes. So eventually the owner started getting complaints about my partner and I scaring the ladies during our workout and that we are slamming the weights, and being really loud and some other bullshit. Now to each his own on this, but to be perfectly honest there is nothing scarier than big ladies riding bikes and watching Dr. Phil. So because of how we worked out the owner let me go and banned bodybuilders and men from working out at his gym. Its now like a wannabe curves, were everyone races to get there so they can reserve a spot on a bike were they can pedal at the rate of a sowing machine. Now me being a trainer I realize that everyone has there own way of working out, and I respect that....but this is just HOG SHIT!!!

Sounds like you need to find a better gym.. sorry to hear about that bro.

Gyms tend to drive certain cliental into the gym, marketing scheme.. Gender or age or what not..

you just had bad luck at that gym. Or the owner like's them ladies...lol,,jk..

appealing to the mass audience and the new fad of 'keeping fit'. but of course the mindless fools dont realise that fitness consists of more than just running on the treadmill for 30mins a week. after all, the gym owner doesnt care about how many people are using the gym, only how many people pay the monthly bill!

find yourself a new gym. if you are a well reputed personal trainer, you should be able to walk into a new job

I'm so glad this thread was posted. I've been dealing with similar bullsh-t at my gym. They tell me I cant wear a singlet because it shows too much skin! BULL - theres females walking around with shorts that hav their buttcheeks hangin out. So I point out other folks with singlets on (skinny guys) and they say that since I'm a big guy I hav more to show. Can u believe this crap; I'm being discrimated against for being too brolic in the gym! Pretty soon they'll be telling me not to use profane language in the gym. If the boss of my gym approached me the way he your's came at you, we would have a full-out bloody brawl in the middle of the gym. Pansies!
