hey guys,

i just started doing cardio about 3 weeks ago.

ive been running on the treadmill, hitting up the eliptical, and ive been making love to the bike

but recently i started having some quite noticeable pain in my knees. ive asked around and ive heard that jogging is actually bad on your knee joints because it puts a lot of stress and pressure on them with each stride.

has anyone else experienced this from working on cardio???

I broke my knee cap playign rugby in a knee on knee clash. This was a while ago but the doc said no high impact cardio, ie such as jogging. Stick to smooth running machines with slim to none impact. My dads got the same problems.

ive had back problems before in the past and the low/no impact cardio also helps out a lot with that too

well, i messed up my spine playing soccer several years ago which also led to muscle problems, this was before i started lifting. the spine is good now and muscles are fine but the around when i suffered the injury it was hard to run without pain because of the shock delivered to my spine so i did a lot of biking and elliptical work to get back in shape.

i went up for a header with another guy, he elbowed me in the air and i came down on my hip so hard that the impact caused a curvature in my spine. i had to go the chiropractors a lot and go to a lot of physical therapy but im good now. however, im still really cautious with my back
