First off what is your preference cardio before a work out or after. And what should you be doing, should cardio came first then lifting or vice versa? I have been doing a bit of running directly after may work outs, and i was just wondering if that may be be doing more good then bad for my goals of putting on mass.

first of all i would do cardio after workout, and dont worry about ur body going catabolic in that time ur doing cardio. If you are bulking its better to put cardio on you off days, to just get that blood flowing in the body , and it increases ur metabolism alot. On a cut i have read its the best to do it after weight training and it shouldnt be longer than 30 minutes, if you doing high intensity.

I'd like to call on the words of Dave Palumbo one of the most well known minds in the bodybuilding industry right now. He says "on your off days don't run, jog. Don't jog, walk. Don't walk, sit. Don't sit sleep."

Your off days are off days for a reason. This is the time to not do anything but rest and eat your butt off. If your bulking just do your cardio after your workout but again like Palumbo and many other minds including Charles Glass say you shouldn't be doing very much cardio if at all when your trying to gain weight.

Cardio is fine once or twice on a bulk, any more is counterproductive.

Running post workout, would generally help deplete muscle glycogen, which should be replenished especially after a weight training session on a bulk. Steady cardio can shrink muscle fibers at a greater chance than an anaerobic activity will, so take that into consideration when choosing upon cardio types.

Any form of cardio pre-workout will a) deplete useful muscle glycogen, and, b) reduce power output on most exercises.

Eat enough to recover the calories burned from running and you should be fine. I don't perform any form of cardio on a bulk.

it better after u lift. i tend to do a warm up on the treadmill prior to legs, no more than 1 mile(inclined). And intense cardio after for no more than 30 mins. and once a week cardio and thats about it on that day.

I warm up for like 5 mins pre WO all the time, i probably do cardio properly once a week on a off day in the night, but i hvent been doing so for like the past 3 weeks.
I would recommend cardio post WO, cus you dont wanna tire ur self out b4 you hit the weights. But warm up pre WO jsut to get the blood flowing
