Hello,
On the leg press i usually use a low stance because thats where i can get
the most ROM.
I have tried going higher stance but my ROM is very little. If i do go deeper i would have to bend/curve my back but using common sense i would this this is a bad thing to do?

Anyone else have a problem like this? How you fix it?

Bending your back generally is a very bad idea to do on any leg press, especially the sled press where your down and the sled is angeled at 45 degrees. Can you adjust the leg press so that your closer to the plate so that you don't have to bend your back? Is going low on the plate hurting you? If not, then stick where you get the most range in.

The machines are built for the average sized guy, that means there will always be machines where you have to slightly alter position to get the best out of it.

I used to beable to go high and have good rom, but i think because my stomach has gone larger since then is what the problem is.
I have adjusted the seat to its lowest angle already.
:(
(anyone who started overweight or is, have had this problem?)

Not overly fat but got a considerable amount on me.
So you think the stomach thing is the actual reason why i cant do more ROM anymore?

The best way to correct this problem is really quite elementary.

In fact, its so simple, most people who use the leg press on a regular basis over look it.

The solution is simple, its called the back squat. Forget the leg press even exists, and make your way to the squat/power rack.

Your officially the coolest guy on this website. lol! I'm tired of people not doing the meat of getting your legs big with the good old squat. I was even looking at an old thread of most underrated and overrated exercises and so many people had leg press as underrated and squat as overrated. There seems to be something EXTREMELY wrong with this!

Leg Press is my favorite builder for legs

If you're doing well with the ROM you have now, why change it?

Just cut up a bit and see what happens. It could be just your mass overall, that or you're just overthinking it.

i love squats but my last leg day i had to settle for the leg press because some dumbass and his friends were doing deadlifts with like a fucking quarter on each side... so i was like "fuck this i'm here to lift heavy not sit around waiting" so i hopped on the leg press, loaded 7 plates on each side and goodgame to my legs haha... i've been limping now for 2 days and i love the pain
