iv'e been going to the gym for about six months now and i'm addicted to it! every time i go there's always a few people in there doing shit that really gets under my skin.for instance,walking around or sitting at the stations i want to use talking on their cell phones also when they're making all kinds of noise and slamming down the weights,acting like they're lifting heavy! what annoys some of ya'll?

the gym i belong too is perfect, hardly anyone in there and if they are then its all my buddies whom i lift with that ACTUALLY know what they're doing. previously i remember belonging to golds in dover, de and there were always kids coming up to me in the middle of my set and asking me how many sets i have left etc etc. it was horrible, plus the ones that take a half hour on each machine or freeweight bench and wont move.

what annoys me is the guy that walks around and hardly does any excercises, he just walks around talking to everyone even when your in the midle of a set.... i'd say he does 4 sets of 10 conversations with 2 min "rest" between sets

"rest" = actually weight lifting

i used to get angry at all the things mentioned above. now i have just come to realize that it is inexperience/arrogance and get a good laugh out of it.

Man when ur in the gym u need to make war not peace! Go in for total domination and annihilation; let nothing stand in ur way. Have no fear of conflict, if someone is on a machine that u want, u may either hav to just wait it out or switch up your exercise order. But if those cats r just sitting there, then most likely they'll get a move on whe ur ready to use them. Be polite at first, but if they give you resistance then its time to get rude. Thankfully, I dont deal with most of this sh!t. Folks think I'm crazy when they hear me mumbling to myself on the treadmill. Cuz while they're tuned into their MTV channel I'm thinking about how much pain I'm about to undergo and how I'm gonna tear the motherf^ckin roof off the gym!

Thanx Kirk, yeah I dont dick around when it comes to my workouts. I've been lifting for the past 7yrs(for sports & general fitness purposes) but I just began bodybuilding last Spring. I had always been pretty strong and beast-like in my training but I noticed that much weaker guys were growing bigger than me(roids?) so I decided that I needed to start looking like I could lift as much as I did. Right now I'm preparing for a strongman competition againgst guys twice my size & some on gear. My current stats are: 5'6" 185lb, bench 340, Squat 515, Deadlift 515, bodyfat about 9%. I plan on getting up to 190 for the comp simply for added leverage and power.

you'll definitely achieve it with your attitude, make sure you keep it that way. im a small dude too and same boat as you, always lifted and such for the sports i was playing in competively, but never really got into it until about 2 years ago serious. you got that underdog mindset, so those boys better watch out because sure they're on gear and such, but just imagine how they'll look when you place higher than them on the board, you got nothing to lose...they do. good luck.

man there are so many gym-hate threads lol. But yeah those same people piss me off.... oh and my gym is quite small, so i'm usually asking people how many sets they have left so i can get my damn workout started lol. We only have 1 bench...1 smith machine...1 squat station... 2 bench bars (1 for bench,1 for squat) and the usual isolation machines..... oh and dumbells, but only 2 dumbells of every weight, except 25's and 30's! LIKE WTFFFF
