I've recently been getting what I believe are shin splints when I do light cardio after I lift. I'm not entirely sure if I'm correct in assuming what they are, it just feels like my legs are going to burst; I really hope that I'm not mistaking this for a good burn. So far its happened twice. The first time, I roughed it out, but the second time, I couldn't last. So is this the burn I'm supposed to be feeling doing light cardio or is this a problem with my legs? And if so, has anyone experienced any problems with this and if not does anyone know of a solution? Thanks.

It mainly kills in my shins. I barely feel anything in my calves.

Do toe raisers with no weight.Lift your toes from off the floor for about 3x20. Best part about it is you can do it any where.

It could be your footwear or you could be overtraining. Make sure when your running or jogging, your not striking with your heels, keep on your toes

Zack, what would I wrap them with? I think I know what you're talking about, I just cant think of the word right now.

Mr. Bhana, thanks I'll try to stay aware of what I'm doing next time because the more I think about it, I might be striking with my heel.

stretch really well to. most people dont stech for long enough to do any good either. if you get them walk around on your heels with your toes up. it looks funny but its instant relif. are you new to running? I always used to get them then it passed. goodluck!

No, I'm not new to running. Been doing it since about January of last year, granted, it wasn't HIIT or anything like that (I was new to everything). I began doing HIIT when I came to school in Sept/Oct. When I first started I got the same feeling all the time, but eventually it subsided. The only way I could see having them is winter quarter I eventually took off because my work load for school was becoming unbearable.
