hey, ive been hitting the gym for a while now just got back from sickness and my sets of barbell freeweight shrugs have been getting rather high for my body composition at 300 pounds and it seems that it can get much higher once i buy my wrist wraps. i was wondering if i should just cap my weight at one point and prevent injury or should i push myself and keep adding the weight. i do 5 reps 3 sets. the short hand of what i am asking is; how high is the injury risk when preforming shrugs at heavy weight? thanks

nice, ok so.... are you performing the shrugs with good form? Like i mean your traps should be moving well over 1 inch up and down, while you squeeze at the top. If you're doing them right, and you can still go heavier, I don't see why not. Do you feel any uncomfortable pain or anything?

my max barbell is somewhere btw 600 to 660 and I'm still increasing man.

my max on the hammerstrength is 770.

You can keep going. There's little to no limit there

no limit what so ever, make sure you're using proper form because the injury risk would be greater the higher up in weight you go if the form is not correct (ie if you're leaning forward, backwards etc...)
