hey guys

i havent been on here for ages !!!

i had an ankle fracture about 8 weeks ago, so i had surgery and stuff on it, so i havent been to the gym in that time.

my cast comes off tomorrow, and i have physio etc. but i wanted to know that once i get slowly back into training; when i train legs should i do the leg i fractured more than my right leg ?

coz my left leg is conisderably smaller and weaker than my right.

so should i do like one legged leg presses etc ? or just stick to doing everything as normal as i build up again slowly ?

thanks

Was the cast you had for your ankle a full leg cast? Causing muscle atrophy?

If so, you could do one legged presses just to regain the strength/size you lost in your leg. Bilateral movements could potentially put the majority of the load on the stronger foot. Maybe do some extra work to the newly recovering ankle, but not much. Muscle memory kicks in real quick.

Good luck, hope the ankle gets better.

i sprained my ankle last year pretty bad,it took me a month plus a few weeks to get back on it...yeah do bodyweight stuff, when you can get back to running, run, because it builds up your calves back to the way they used to be, it will be painfull in your calves at first, but then they will build up again and you can go back to training like you did

I would start off with maybe one legged presses and stuff like that even when youarent working out the other leg but just for a couple of weeks. It wont take long for it to come back
