It's common. Not weird at all, if you think about 7 pounds in weight, muscle, fat and water being held on it's not that visible when your looking in the mirror everyday.

Now, if you had a series of pictures it would be easier to see.

generally first month trainees can put on about 10 pounds decently solid..
Its the initial shock of weight training, and will slow down a lot.

Very common.

Could be neurological changes, because of the shock. I prefer going by the mirror, mostly because the scale can be positively or negatively deceiving.

First 8 weeks of resistance training the adaptations are mostly neurological, very little hypertrophy taking place.

Yo bro don't let em tell you you'll slow down. I gained 60 pounds in one year, all natural. You just gotta work your ass off and eat til you feel like puking. Diet is EVERYTHING!

Actually I lost alot of body fat big guy! I gained lean muscle mass eating EXTREMELY clean. My dad is HUGE! I just have really good genetics I suppose. And I know I lost body fat cause I did a before and after percentage.

Bro 60lbs muscle in one year is even too much for some one taking steroids. Just thought Id throw that out there. But nonetheless good job man.

When I first started working out in April '98 (about to turn 14 years old) I only weighed 88 pounds (Only around 4-8 or 4-9 at the time). I started working out lightly and only doing a few basic movements. I slowly progressed to heavier weights and more exercises. By May '99 I was 125. None of it was fat because I was still very thin.
