Any curl works your forearm some, gripping things alone work it out, sounds like you just need to work on your forearms more and build some grip strength, just sounds like the forearm muscle got fatigued.

I do a set of curls then do a forearm exercise, works really great to hit the forearms and keep the workout time shorter.

Switch to a strait bar, or try griping the EZ bar so that your pinky side of your hand is above the rest of your hand, its awkward but works pretty well. Hopefully that will help.

If your only curling a 45 lbs barbell, Im going to assume you are a tiny guys and new to bbing. The burn in your forearms could simply mean that you need work on your grip. If you can take the pain, just work though them. They will eventually be up to par with your biceps. Your body grows as a whole.

I love the way the straight bar feels curling, it seems like a good exercise for building mass and doing heavier lifts. I did it today, I do my curls, then after I do a few sets of wrist curls, it hits the forearms since they are nice and warmed up.

Also you can do forearms often like abs and calves, get one of those hand grippers and just cruise around with it when you're doing whatever and pump those suckers up, before you know it people will be looking at you funny when you shake their hand
