Hello,

I like to know is circuit training effective as a form of cardio/burning cals?
Say if i didnt want to go joggin for cardio and just at home did something like:

10 bodysquats
10 pushups
10 situps
repeat...
or something similar

Would that be effective or you think it would do shit all?

Anything helps man. I think you could do those for about 3 sets each workout before you go jog. There's a better chance of you pushing out the glycogen from your muscles and then running and cutting more fat. It just depends if you're on a cut or a bulk.

I'm a big proponent of anaerobic and interval cardio.

On my (most dreaded) conditioning days I will do a circuit like this:

10 burpes
10 push ups
10 yard lateral run to the right
10 yard back pedal
10 yard lateral run to the left
10 yard sprint to the finish
15 crunches

Time yourself, and what ever it takes you to complete the circuit, rest for.
Do 5 circuits, its killer!

Then yeah, you're going to want to do the cardio after. You'll push the glycogen stores (what your muscles initially use for energy) out of the muscles and once they're out then you can start to burn fat. Just keep your diet right and your cardio and training intensity high and you'll be fine.

ummm. i wouldn't do it entirely as your cardio cuz it's doing more for your muscles for strength and toning and such. it's a tough call. ZiR Red would prolly know more about it though.
