ok, this has probably been covered a few times here or someplace else.. but I tried the search engine and didnt find what I was looking for..

as the title says, i have a muscular imbalance in my pecs.

when i first started getting serious about weight lifting, my right arm was slightly bigger then my left (probably 1/2 inch bigger, i've cut the gap to about 1/4 inch now). When i started benching, in order to raise the bar evenly, my left pec apparently had to do a little more work since my left tricep was weaker than the right tricep, thus creating the imbalance. (note. this is not an eye popping thing, but if you stood in front of me you would probably notice it if im flexing)

now, a couple people have told me that i can correct this just focusing on proper form, others have told me that i need to do isolation on my right pec/left tricep. but im looking for more opinions now, what do you guys think?

i appreciate any help, thanks

bro, proper form is the key to success no matter what weight, height, or whatever. Every time i am in the gym at my school (CWU for those of you who know) i constantly see kids with horrible form and think to myself how they are gonn afeel in 5-10 years from now. HORRIBLE! So a while ago, apporx 3 months ago i started helping my roommate train. He was pretty weak and skinny to be honest. He too had an imbalance in strength. His Left arm was by far stronger than his right so when he showed me his bench technique and weight, he would always have trouble with his right side to lift the bar evenly. So as i am learning to become a personal trainer, i took him in as my first project. And first off was form. Now three month later, with proper form, and i mean excellent form..his bench has gone up 40 lbs, and the majority of it is the result from form. I also helped him with his diet. :)
but anyway thats my input man. GL with your training. and remember, LIVE FAST & TRAIN HARD!

ive been focusing on proper form this time around more than ever, its helped my gains a lot. now, you say his bench went up 40 lbs, but did he correct the imbalance? at least partially?

use dumbells for a while with good form that way each side has to stabilize and work with no help from the other and stay consistant things will work themselves out
