Ok, so I want to concentrate on cutting seriously now. Some questions, basic I assume,

1. When cutting, should I cut out my creatine, whey, casein because I'm trying to lose, or not?

2. For the workouts, should I strictly focus on HITT training, getting in that target heart rate area? I mean, should I do anything else to lose weight besides HITT?

3. I'm worried about losing my strength while cutting, because I don't think I should be working out super hard [bulking routine], while cutting but while I am cutting, will I lose a lot of muscle? I'd like to avoid it, obviously.

4. As far as dieting is concerned, should I take in anything less, like less carbs then a bulking diet...?

Thanks a bunch guys.

Keep the supplements you are taking. All of them are beneficial during a cut. If anything you should be at the gym less while bulking and working harder while cutting. You may not lose muscle, but you won't make any major gains either. Catabolism takes place here, just make sure you aren't overdoing your cardio without proper nutrition. Lower the Calories and Carbs, up the protein.

cardio 4-6 times a week, cut the carbs, lower the calories, and I would say aim for 10-15 reps. Try super setting your training, this is the split I am currently running.
Mon: Chest/Back/Abs/Cardio
Tues: Bi's/Tri's/Cardio
Wed: Legs/Shoulders/Abs (won't be able to do cardio because of legs)
Thurs: Chest/Back/Cardio
Friday: Bi's/Tri's/Abs/Cardio
Sat: Off
Sunday: Legs/Shoulders/Cardio

Everything is super setted, in order to keep the heart rate up and burning calories, then by adding in the cardio you are really getting the burn going, aim to do HIIT for your cardio, recent studies show that 30 minutes of HIIT burns more calories over a 24 hour period then doing 1 hour of steady paced cardio.

So I should keep up my lifting but not so much weight, ok.

Is there an "ideal" time to do HITT, I've been doing it for 5 mins before lifting, and then 20 mins after the lifting, should I do it differently, like just 30 mins after and call it good?

I'm not sure if there is an ideal time for HITT but I usually do it on my days that i dont have weight training. Right now I'm doing a cutting phase and I do the weight training on Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and then wednesday, saturday sunday go for cardio.

Ok, I'll think about that, thanks. I have started HITT on the stairclimber, trying to avoid starting the leg splints up again where they started while doing HITT on the track. I do 30 mins on a 'fat burner' level and I can see the little display telling me I burn 350 calories in 30 mins. Ok now, I take a breath and try to think about this. My post whey and creatine shake is 270 calories, not counting my other minimeals before I go to be, and that's easily over 300 calories.

My question, and I don't know how much you guys can help me, if this is a 'varies from person to person' kind of question, but should I try to be burning more in 30 min session than 350 calories? I'm cutting, BTW.

I do HIIT after every workout, except for leg/shoulder days because I can't walk let alone do HIIT. Its working great, seems like lbs are melting away.

Two points I would like to make:

1. Do not suddenly change up your reps to high reps and cut down on rest time. While you will loose weight, you will sacrifice muscle size and strength; your myofibrils will shrink. Continue to focus on training with weights like you would as if you were trying to gain muscle.

2. Creatine has been shown in several studies to impede fat loss. It also has been shown in studies to have no enhanced recovery abilities. To what extent (impeding fat loss), I have yet to see anything conclusive of. That said, if you store creatine it will allow you to train at higher intensities...so it seems to be a wash.

So, your basically saying the jury is still out on creatine and its effect on fat loss, specifically for a cutting diet? I figured it would help me run faster and lift heavier just the same. I know when i first cycled creatine i had great strength gains, but at the time i didnt do hardly any cardio, and now im trying to eat away at the fat i accumulated because of that.

btw, it's HIIT, OP.
