There has been so many post/threads lately from new guys young and old and the first question being what supplements should I take.None!!Is that a stupid answer. No its not.Get in the gym or the basement wherever you gonna workout at and lift, lift and lift.Get your diet down to a good one.It depends on what you want to do as what kind of diet you need.Whether you want to gain muscle or just bulk up in general or lose alot of fat or just tone up.Either way the main part of the diet needs to be to eat.Try to get a minimum of 6 meals a day.Eating every 2-3 hrs.Every meal needs to consist of Protein, carbs and some good fat.How much again depends on you and your needs.
If you have quite a bit of bodyfat to lose then you will need to add in some cardio. If you want to gain muscle mass you gonna have to lift heavy and keep reps in the 6-8 range. If you want to just tone up and have a little Bf to lose then up the reps to 12-15 range and lighten the weight.
After and only after you have done this consistently for at least a few weeks and you see where you are then maybe start thinking about a supplement or 2.There is no magic pills. You want to lose weight then stop eating junk and get on a treadmill for starters. You want to gain muscle eat right and lift heavy. This is what it all boils down to.Protein would be my first choice of supps to take after I realize what i want and if Im going to stick with it.After several years of working out this is still my only consistent supp.
Sure you can start creatine later on if you want. This stuff has gotten so much attention and everybody wants to take it because they think its some type of steroid or something every since it was in the news with some athletes. Its ok but not magic either.Of course you need your vitamins.later on after training and rersearching then you can start looking at other stuff like Bcaas or something.
This is a very generic description of what im trying to say but i was trying not to make it to complicated or scientific.I hope this might answer a few questions for the new guys.

well put!

Noob gains are so great! don't even worry about supplements for the first couple months even. Get your diet right! Get your diet right! Get your diet right!

I went for the first 6 months without protein supplementation even. I only started experimenting around with protein, then creatine, then N.O. when I hit plateaus

I disagree with the rep range advice though. >12 you are just improving muscle endurance.

In short, get a solid diet and training routine before you take a million supplements.

I agree 100%. THERE IS NO MAGIC POTION. If you're looking to 'loose fat' don't go running to a fat burner. If you're looking to 'gain weight' don't run to the weight gainers! Eat properly, lift properly and your results will come in properly. If you're planning on taking a supplement, you should research almost everything about it before use.

Great post Kaboom.
