Everyone says to follow through a Full range of motion. Your skill level and experience will tell you to not lock out your extremedities when performing a movement. Constant tension is required to keep the muscle active.

I was told that also in the beginning. But after increasing my weight and getting better. I realized it was a crock of schit.

Just like Kaboom stated.

Full range of motion doesnt mean lock out.If you lock out you are passing the full range of motion and your knees are actually starting to go back

Yes Picabloo you do want to get pretty straight on the deads but I still wouldnt lock out

I never lock out on anything, used to and it was hard on the joints even in early 20's. I get an even better feeling with every lift by not locking out. I say never lock out no matter what, unless your doing a one rep max and have no choice, but try to stay away from that to unless you are lifting in competition.

locking out tranfers load to joint in this case the knee and allows your muscles to rest so in the course of a set you should not lock as Kaboom says on completion of each rep but I will lock out sometimes on last rep or two just enough to rest and get the next rep but not on every set just the last one. This is high risk to say the least so know your limits and listen to your body.

Cosign! Luckily, steering away from locking out was of huge help for me in the beginning. You should never lock out, I don't think experience has anything to do with it at all. It may not effect the joints now, but years later you'll feel it. Definitely, as well as the leg Press, do not lock out on dips. The elbow and knees should have the least amount of pressure on them as possible.
