Hey guys earlier i came to you with advice in regards to wide-grip chin ups (pull ups i think they are called), and now i have another question;

ive been lifting solidly so far for the past 7 months, and in each session my goal is to lift the heaviest weight possible, without sacrificing reps, form or doing an injury.

now the only problem is that the max weight ive been pushing hasn't gone up, the soreness and feelings are the same, but the weight still seems pitifully small, and if i add on small amounts like 2.5kgs each side, its almost like the straw that broke the camels back, its got me stumped.

well any advice and info on this would be great guys

mostly the BIG ones like deads, squats, bench, standing military press, lat pulldowns t-bar rows that sorta thing, im trying to increase the weight without losing form because i have suffered two sublaxted shoulders from rugby and d-bell shoulder press which went south verrrry quick. my question was; should i be worried? given that im still hurting afterwards, or if i should be what can i do? because there is no one at the gym when i get there that can help spot me.

Naw, don't be worried, it's a plateau. Keep eating and getting rest and keep your training intensity up and you will break through it.

It's good that your conscious of your body and your symetry. Most just go about the routine without really looking at the proportions of each side and addressing the weak parts.

also if you have been doing the same thing for a while you might want to change it up...some times that helps.

another question- when was the last time you took time off? sometimes that helps too

generally you want to take time off every 8 to 10 weeks, about a week or so. maybe throw in some active recovery.
