hey guys

i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions towards my monday chest split, i do tri's too but im happy with what i got for tri's so i dont feel the need to post it. im just wondering if im doing all i could be doing for my upper/inner chest area because sometimes i feel like i could've tore it up even more, but who knows. anyways heres my split :

Flat Barbell Bench : 3 sets x 8 reps (heavy weight)
*Guillotine Press : 3 sets x 7-8 reps (heavy weight)
Flat DB Press : 3 sets x 10 reps
Incline DB Press : 3 sets x 10 reps
Flat DB Flies : 3 sets x 10 reps
Incline DB Flies : 3 sets x 10 reps
Finish off with either cable crossovers or pec dec flies : 3 sets x 10 reps

*i do guillotine press cuz im not a big fan of incline barbell press, i dont have a spotter and i dont wanna crush my own neck (i use smith for that one)

the weird thing about guillotine press too is i get this crazy stretch and pump out of it so my chest splits like a mofo, but then like after a few exercises it just returns back to normal...does this ever happen to anyone? its weird lol i like it though

im wondering if i may be doing too many sets?
i have noticed gains but they seem to have slowed down a little bit, but i am still making gains. i would be happier if i really felt the soreness in my upper middle chest area, but sadly i dont i know soreness does not indicate a good workout but id rather have it there to kinda reassure myself that i did a good job haha...anyways, i am developing a little split in the upper inner region but i just wanna see if i can do more for it. im just gonna focus on form form form for now, so im open to ANY suggestions guys. im willing to try anything, so hit me up with some techniques that worked for you. later broskies

Pretty much man. I try and rotate exercises every week so my chest is always guessing.

Flat Barbell Bench/Incline Barbell
Incline Dumbell/Incline Flys
Flat Dumbell-Always do these...
Flat Flys/Cable Cross Overs/Peck Deck
---And every now and then Dips

But dont forget to add decline exercises every now and then.

Before I get critisizing, how long have you been training? What kind of shape are you in, age, weight, height, body fat. And 90% of you getting a bigger in general is nutrition.

I agree that you are overtraining. No need to do more than 4-5 exercises for chest.

mr bhana, crusader, and the wall thanks for postin dudes.

ill try out your split bhana and see how it works out for me

oh and crusader ya dude im definately cuttin it down haha i feel very silly, i think i just did so many sets though because chest is my favorite muscle and its most important to me...yes i am dumb lol

but ya to answer your question wall,

i agree with you 100%

nutrition is a huge factor within my gameplan to become bigger so i educated myself and i have a pretty good diet that works for me, thats why i didnt feel i should post it.

im 19 years old

5'6" - 5'7"

i weigh 140 lbs. (lol yes i know im light but you shoulda seen me before...119 regular weight!)

im still bulking to around 160 then cut

im not sure what my bf% is but judging from pictures that ive seen i would guestimate that im around 12-15% body fat

ive been training on and off for a couple years but i never really took it seriously until a couple months ago

ive been bulking since the beginning of september and ive made some pretty good progress

it would be great to see your guys chest day workout to kinda base mine off of and to those of you that have, thanks!!!! i dunno where i'd be without bb dungeon i appreciate it fellas

oh and just to put this out there

even though i know i have a lot of exercises for chest on chest day

the funny thing is the morning after i feel awesome, my chest is torn to shreds

ive been reading other threads on overtraining and im still not sure if i am? i know everyones body works differently but if i cut down to say 15 sets per workout i dunno if ill be getting the bang for my buck.

and its not like i cant do the same thing next week.

every week i feel perfectly capable of doing my old routine lol its really weird.

so i guess im in a muddle and i really dont know if i am overtraining or not...

You could be overtraining. But if you feel that your not, then by all means continue what your doing.

Imo, your workout looks like you're over training, have you seen any improvement from your workout?

oh definately, i see and feel results. yesterday i did my old routine except without the crossovers or pec dec and i feel pretty good.

it was a total of 18 sets which is still a little much but it tears my chest up and gets the job done.

i am sure of it that i will be able to continue doing the same thing, and i am getting results.

i am just wondering if i could be getting better results if i cut off around 3 sets.

looks like ill just have to test it out and see if it works
