Why would you want a six day split? It only leave you one rest day and well your body needs more than that man...

There you go! Now thats a smart split. 3-4 four day is a great start. Try this:

(My favorite split of all time!)
Chest/Tris
Legs/ab's
Off Day
Back/Bi's
Shoulders/Traps/Ab's
Off Day
Off Day

Or this three day lol...

Chest/Back
Off Day
Shoulders/Traps/Ab's
Off Day
Legs/Arms/Ab's
Off Day
Off Day

My favorite, im doing right now is a 4 day but rotates days a body part is worked out.

Week 1:
M: Chest Tris
T: Back Bis
W: Off
Th: Legs Shoulders
F:Chest Tris

Week 2:
M: Back Bi
T: Legs Shoulders
W: OFF
Th: Chest/Tri
F: Back Bi

Week 3:
M: Leg Shoulders
T: Chest Tri
W: OFF
Th: Back Bi
F: Leg Shoulders

You have to know how you recover with most workouts because you do sometimes his shoulders before chest and visa versa. As long as you know your body well enough to say enough is enough, I have gained substantially off this rotation. Just eat alot and take weekends easy.

Lift Big,
TheWall

go six man dont listen to all this overtraining crap, you read magazines the pros will tell what their splits look like now but dont let that fool you, the thing they do not tell you is all the overtraing rules they broke getting there

^^ That may be so, but how do you know what the pro's life consists of? If a man works 40-50 hrs a week, eats 5 meals a day, and trains 6 days a week, basic logic will tell you that he will not have nearly enough rest between 1 workout to the other.

The pros live bodybuilding. Granted some of them DID do exactly what I stated above, but genetics has a huge roll in how your body develops and recovers.

Many of the pros in 'magazines' are on gear allowing them to overtrain.

The thing is most people are not full-time bodybuilders who can get 8-10 hours of sleep every night. Nor do they have a solid diet that they can stick to like the pro's can.

Training 6x per week is only going to inhibit recovery further when everything is not in place.
