Age 19
Weight 11,4
BF% (Not sure, How do i find this out?)
I am currently training upperbody twice a week, as i am a beginner and my muscles struggle to recover.

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions for me. Coming up to christmas i am predicting i am going to gain a lot of weight. I want to be able keep the weight on but without it turning to fat, i have been told to gain weight i should avoid cardio as it will burn off. But over the christmas i am going to be eating more and drinking. Is there any way to keep my stomach flat but maintain the weight. What would you lot suggest?

watch what you eat.

eat plenty of protein, from good sources of lean meat, chicken, lean turkey, tuna.

eat plenty of slow digesting carbs, such as brown rice.

control your fat intake, don't eat sweets, soda, or anything with high fructose corn syrup.

drink at least a gallon of water a day.

These are just basic things...do a search on the forum about dieting, and the right foods to eat you will find plenty.

when you say you weigh 11,4 im taking you mean stones?

your best bet is wholesome foods just like the above have stated, 5-7 meals a day with 50carbs:35protein:15fats works for me

also train your lower body too if you dont do so already

read articles on this site aswell as others and your on your way

two cardio sessions has nothing to do with keeping your body fat low. your will see an increase in body fat whether small or large. But cardio alone will not keep it the same, 2 cardio sessions are not enough to burn the extra calories you will be taking in. that is the whole point of a bulk

Yea of course ur gonna gain bodyfat on a bulk that comes with the territory. Cardio along with a clean diet prevents u from gaining excessive amounts of bf. In addition carb intake should b lower on off days. I've put on 15lbs in 7wks & I can still see my abs. I got the cardio protocol from Layne Norton: 2 Hi-intensity cardio session per wk on off days. Sprints help to keep off bf as well as develop lean muscle.
