read laynes sticky on precontest dieting in the nutrition section, it will cover everything you need to know nutrition wise for a cut.

You should get a good feel for regular cutting before you do low carb, trust me bro. If you would look to my table down here.

Bulking = Really Fun training
Mantaining = Fun Training
Cutting = Not so fun training when fatigue hits in
Keto cutting=training while feeling fatigued (not really fun).

I'm doing a whole log based around ketosis dieting. Training without carbs sucks.

Regular cutting you are getting in less fat and less carbs as well as trying to mantain high protein to preserve as much muscle as you can. Usual should be 1-2 pounds a week.

ok i read it not all of it but when they were talkin about doin cardio on you off days only and from what i took from it is that you want to take in carbs but only on you lift days and no carbs to very little on you cardio days? and if you want do low intensity cardio if you have to do cardio on your lift days and only on you weakest muscle and do high intense training on the cardio days. does that sound correct?

A Unique Combination of Science and Experienced Pre-Contest Advice by Layne Norton

There is laynes contest prep diet, not sure which post you read... but this one gives a pretty detailed outline of what you need to do and why. i wouldnt reccomend you trying any form of a ketogenic diet... yet, its a pretty hard first diet. Good luck, and keep us updated.

Read the entire post Mindgame and it'll be clear. I'll make it short and sweet for you since its kinda more tailored towards the detail than directly into how to do it, do you know the numbers of calories you need to intake to mantain body weight?

i think layne has a real basic/primitive method where you multiply your BW by a number depending on your somatotype. (edit: its in the thread)
