im thinking about trying a new training split (new to me that is)

Monday: Chest/Back
Tuesday: Shoulders/Traps
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Legs/Arms
Friday: Off
Saturday: Off
Sunday: Off

My logic behind this was that i get three full days off after I work my arms so that I can work my chest, back, shoulders, and traps at full recovery.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Its fine if u can take it but back and chest are days that take a lot of energy and focus. If you have got enough energy and strength to do both then go for it!

I think yours is pretty fine.
Keep in mind, you have to know how your body works and everyone is different, no one can achieve the same with the same work out. Here's a couple of my splits that I have made up.

Three day splits:

Monday: Chest and biceps
Wednesday: Legs, calves, and shoulders
Friday: Triceps and Back

or

Monday: Back and Biceps
Wednesday: Chest and Triceps
Friday: Legs, calves, and shoulders

or

Monday: Chest and Back
Wednesday: Legs, calves, and shoulders
Friday: Biceps and triceps

Five day splits:

Monday: Chest
Tuesday: Rest
Wednesday: Back and shoulders
Thursday: Legs and calves
Friday: Triceps
Saturday: Biceps

or

Monday: Triceps and shoulders
Tuesday: Biceps and calves
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Chest
Friday: Back

Personally I found that putting secondary muscle earlier in the week and primary later in the week really messed with my ability to lift big weights.

But yet again, as above, everyone has their own style of training.

Lift Big,

Well, these were my splits, and I made it that the smaller muscles are worked first because they were my weak points.
My primary muscles are my strong points which explains why they come second. These splits were made for me, so I suggest to make your own split that would do your body best.

If you tend to have weak points, then you could try to focus on a workout that hits both primary and secondary muscles.

EX:
Bis are weak? Try doing underhand pull-downs. This work the back and alot of bis.

Tris Weak? Do a close grip bench for tris and chest. Hits both with great results.

Just an opinion,
TheWall

if its a laggin body part try pre exhaust techniques ie back = pullover machine / lat pulldowns
chest = fly's/bench press
quads = leg ex/squat or leg press

adjust the weights beforehand so you get no more than 6 reps max on each movement and perform them slow and strict.
