I know... honestly in the medical field you have to be... if not you would be stressin' all the time. I go home and completely forget about work.

right this is starting to annoy me now so ive spent the last 30 mins looking for any proof that it could work and came up with this

WASP WAISTS - A Study of Tightlacing in the 19th Century and its Motives

look at the 8th 9th and 13th paragraphs.

personally i think i could work just not very well in todays day and age (like take an inch or 2) and would be a very extreme way or reducing your waist

LOL, ask your wife Chris. Corsets work and are gonna make anyone lose more than 1-2" if worn properly unless they are a size 0. The whole thread isn't even about if they work. It is common knowledge that they do.

Don't know if its the best source for this but first one I found.

The Proper Use of Belts During Weight Training

Constantly wearing a belt can also cause decreased strength development in abdominal muscles. Electromyographic research has found that there are lower levels of muscle activity in abdominal muscles when a belt is worn while lifting. The muscles that would normally keep the abdomen stabilized are inhibited when a belt is used, which could result in weaker abdominal muscles in the long run

I don't think its a big step to take to say that purposeful undertraining of the abdominal muscles is going to cause a deficit of growth.
