This thread is for the more advanced guys :)

How long did it take for you to bench 225lbs/100kg and 308lbs/140kg an so on?

I wanna know how long it generally takes to make those milestones...

Don't just post your bench press... your welcome to state any exercise as long as the poundages are impressive.

ic they that would explain it. It took me 6 months of benching. to go from 95-175. When I first started I could only do 25's on each side now I can do my body weight. Not bad eh?

How big are you (height/weight) how old, how long have you been lifting? I maxed at 225 at age 15, after about a year of lifting. I forget when I hit 315, about 17 or so. Im also 6'3", and weigh about 240. I wasb between 185-205 when I hit these. What part of Denmark are you from? My great gradparents came to America from Langeland.

Talking to me?

I'm 5'8" and weigh 211 at 15% bf and 24 years old. I'm living in south denmark, so... have never been on Langeland.
Guess I'm just not naturally strong :(

Yeah , that was to you. When did you start lifting? When did you reach those mile stones? I started lifting weights on my own(read: was a skinny kid fucking around in a gym) at age 13 or 14. I also played football in high school and college, so im sure that had its effects.

I reached 225 a few month ago (1-3 reps). Now i do 8 reps 225. I have been training serious 1½-2 years, but 1 year with poor nutrition. It was first this year I learned about proper nutrition.

if you've increased that much, Id say your doing fine. I had the benefit of powerlifting through sports for 8 years of my life, so I was able to get used to sets of 1's,2's, 3's, etc. (in high school, we would do 3x3 one week, 3x5 the next, 5x5, then back downover the next two weeks on squat, clean, deadlift, and bench, 3 days a aweek, plus a few auxillary lifts) We would also max every 6-8 weeks. From 3-8 reps in a few months is damn fine. Ive taken almost a year off from the gym after finishing college ball,(to refresh my mind, body, heal up, etc and to refocus), and just started going back a few weeks ago. Looking forward to gaining back all i lost.

my max bench is 315 pounds for 4 reps .. it toke 2 years of serious training to reach that goal .. now i benched 225 pounds for 8 reps :) .. but i'm not a barbell fan when it came to chest .. i'd rather to stick with dumbells .. morse comfortable and more range of motions
