vascularity

the lower your bf% the more vascular you tend to become. so apart from using bf calipers and noticing your definition increasing, can you use vascularity as an indication to gauge whether or not you are losing bf?

im not exactly sure, but i always thought vascularity depends on the person as well. i forget reading it somewhere, but isn't it also based on the thickness of skin or something? i could be totally off, freak you have an answer?

Good point^^^^ Yes thickness of the skin makes a huge difference. Everyone is a little different. I have a rope-like vein in my right arm all the time.. my left arm bicep vein did not show until I got <8%bf. Same with a vein down my leg and stomach.

Yes, I agree also.. I'm currently at 8% bf and I only have the bicep vein and over my forearms and some on the calves. On the other hand, there's this guy at the gym with 8% bf and he's got veins all over the place; in his shoulders, chest, legs.. Looks awsome!

you can't judge vascularity and bf levels. some people are naturally more vascular than others, even at a higher percentage of bf. i'm pretty sure it has to do mostly with the thickness of the skin. the only true way to keep track of bf lost would be with calipers on a weekly basis.

i have veins everywhere, even at over 10-14% bf my veins are huge & noticable...anything below 8% for me my veins are like a vine yard. the bigger you get can also determine in how big & visable veins are going to be too, which is what i would like to add...but COSIGN freak & justlift

Even at high BF my forearms are vascular.

I went to give double red blood today. They had trouble deciding which vein to use. They said, "You have really nice veins but your body fat is so low and you have too much muscle in that area that it makes it hard to get a good insertion. They were able to get it but had to prop it up to keep the bevel from laying right against the wall of the vein. Thought it was pretty funny!
