Ok, this is the big question. What is more effect for building mass, getting big. I couldn't really care about how much stronger I get, although it will come in time. Some people say Supersetting is more for calorie-burners, some say it rips more muscle fibers, thus faster, more effect muscle growth. What do you guys think?

Supersetting is defenately harder then single sets, but is it really worth the struggle?

...one more thing, what are drop sets?

Example of a drop set

I use 255 pound leg extensions for 14 and can't get out anymore. Then I drop the weight right after my last rep and continue, then I drop the weight and continue.

I would say single sets. Get to work with heavier weight because of the rest in between sets. I would use supersets as part of platue busting.

I think the answer is do both, straight sets and supersets...mix things up or you will get stale...supersets are very intensive, but certainly worth the effort...you can try an isolation exercise, say dumbell fly's,followed by neck press...or superset opposing muscle groups...back/chest...biceps/triceps etc...you can still get stronger supersetting, straight sets are not the only way.

^well said guys. i think a mix is good. i wouldnt go doing supersets everyday, but to change it up and vary intensity it would be good. supersets work really well for taxing the muscle and getting a good pump. personally i find it works well with shoulders, such as a compound exercise and then supersetting an isolation movement.

if theres one thing i think i've learned, its deff that you need to vary. using only one method, or hearing people say...oh you have to use ONLY this way, i feel like its such bull. everyone is different, and you need to keep your muscles guessing.

Variation is important yes, but if you use supersetting all the time, the body adapts to supersetting.

The muscles will adapt to any stimuli that you apply to it. Change it up, the body needs to adapt to the new stimuli. I belive in changing it up every so often, but I found sticking with what I do basically works well.

Mix them up in your training. Super sets work well. I don't use them every single week though.
