Im just curious about straight bar curls... this isnt another post asking what the best workout is lol..
Whenever i use the straight bar i get wicked pains through my wrists, it doesnt stop me from making gains if i dont do the, im just curious.. does this mean i need to strengthen my wrists? or is it wrist flexibility?
here's what ya do mate....open your thumbs outta your grip, it helps alleviate some of the tension off your wrists. your wrists stay the same size no matter how big your forearms or arms grow so when your going heavy, remember that. get some wrist wraps and def. use them. also don't turn your wrists inward at the top of your curl.

Actually I've heard many accounts from experienced grip trainers armwrestlers who say their wrists have grown slightly since they started training. Maybe only a 1/4" but growth is growth.
I think it could be as much a flexibility issue as a strength issue. It's not something that's going to be fixed easily. Personally, I'd rather fix the problem through stretching and suitable exercises than mask it by using wraps, but hey that could just be me.
here's a tip for you guys...when performing any curling movement, keep your thumbs lower than your pinkie fingers...grip the bar with your fingers but keep your thumb nearer to your index fingers knuckle rather than on top...hope this makes sense

Ive been playing guitar for abotu 10 years now, so i think my wrists are as flexible as they are gonna get haha, But would you recommend mostly forearm exercises then if its a matter of wrist strength as well?
