There is no simple answer to your question. It is said that naturally, you can gain about 8-12 pounds of lean body mass per year. However, this is a just a generalization and may not apply to you. If you are in your first year or two of training you may find that gains come much more quickly. Also there are some who are just very genetically gifted and put on muscle quicker than others. Markus Ruhl said that he put on 40 lbs of muscle in his first year of training which is incredible. So just try not to get too caught up in the numbers game. Worry about what you see in the mirror more than the scale. That being said for every pound of muscle you gain you are going to gain several pounds of supportive tissue and fluid so in terms of weight gain, I think that you could gain 20-25lbs in a year or less, just dont expect it all to be rock solid muscle. Remember if you want to be 230-235 pounds you are going to need to eat like a guy who is 230 lbs. Good Luck. |
