Anyone have any tips on this exercise? I tried it with low weight, just to try it, and it killed my shoulders. Maybe i was holding it wrong i dunno lol.

Any advice?

You just have to get used to it. Or try wrapping a towel around the bar.

They do take some serious getting used to, they can be very uncomfortable at first. The bar should be resting on your front delts, but you have to find your own sweet spot. Sit the bar too far forward and it will want to roll off as you sink into the hole, too far back and it pushes against your throat and messes with your breathing.

Try to keep as upright as possible, this will help keep the bar in position.

Honestly I would avoid using a towel, it'll just get in the way once the weight gets heavy. If you have the bar racked properly you shouldn't get any bruising.

Be patient, and good luck.

YOu need to keep the weight close to you "in the pocket" so to speak. NO diffreent than back squats. YOu need to find that conmfy point.

It just takes getting used to. I know guys that squat over a grand. It's just getting used to the feeling of the bar on you with that weight on it.

I find that I can squat deeper with front squats compaired to back squats. They are a hell of a lot harder but good for a change.

If you want to take the stress off your back with backsquats and squat deeper just use 2 10lb plates on the ground to put your heels on.
